Eligibility Specific entry requirements: a Bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits with sociology, gender studies, human geography, media and communication studies, social anthropology, social work, political science or equivalent (including an independent project of at least 15 credits) as the main field of study. The applicant must also have qualifications corresponding to "English 6" or "English B" from Swedish upper secondary school.

Remarks

Refund policy Reimbursements can only be made to the same account from which the original payment was made (the bank processes it as a reversed payment). An administrative fee of SEK 5,000 is charged once the reimbursement has been made. Currency gains cannot be transferred to the next semester and refunds of currency gains are not made. A student who does not pay the tuition fee for the upcoming semester despite a reminder is suspended from the programme until the fee is paid in full; invoices must be paid in full - partial payments are not accepted.
Visa refusal policy Students from outside the EU/EEA need a residence permit for studies; Örebro University advises paying the tuition fee as soon as possible after admission and then immediately submitting the residence permit application (the Swedish Migration Agency is automatically informed of the fee payment). From 2026 new rules apply: paid work alongside studies is limited, requirements for study results are higher, and students must notify the Swedish Migration Agency of their address.
